[Sat at the shop, alternating between feeding Thomas ice cream and eating some herself while monitoring Abel eating his own. Day off and babysitting, it was a good thing they were cute.]
There was a brief moment of panic that washed over Ace as she entered the shop, her gaze falling on the child she’d abandoned taking care of two kids who may or may not have been her own. Initially she’d come in to talk to her brother. Sort out some of the shit she had going on, but it seemed as if fate had different plans for her. For a split second she contemplated slipping out unseen and saving the face to face for a more appropriate time –this certainly wasn’t the way she was expecting to go about the whole reunion– but she couldn’t just leave. Her feet brought her forward before she’d even fully thought out what to say to Adia, after all these years Hi, sorry I skipped out on you eleven years ago. We should have some coffee, just didn’t seem to cut it. Still that didn’t stop her from clearing her throat to catch the girl’s attention once she finally made it to her table. Now what the fuck was she supposed to do? There was simply nothing she could say that didn’t end up falling short, but she had to say something… anything would be better than just standing in silence.
